3D printing is a seductive and addicting hobby that traps many in its filament web. Like any relationship, it starts casually at first with the first print that you handle. From their 3D printing builds into a more steady relationship, as you buy your first desktop printer ; from there you go through the ups and downs as you learn more about 3D printing. As you get serious you tinker and upgrade your 3D printer, print with new filaments, and learn what does and doesn’t work in your technical relationship. 3D printers learn CAD and work with their 3D printers to create a unique and personal creation together.
While I may anthropomorphize my Taz 5 at times, some have taken their love of 3D printing to a whole new level.

A French woman on twitter by the handle of @Lillyinmoovator recently came out about her sexuality. Instead of waving a rainbow pride flag, her pictures showed the love of her life. Lilly has 3D printed her fiancé, a InMoovator robot. Lilly and InMoovator have been engaged for a year, and they are waiting for human – robot marriage to be legalized in France.
Lilly has surprised the world by coming out as a robosexual, a person attracted only to robots. In other reports, she has stated that she is repulsed by human flesh.
3D printing a partner (or a sex doll) has been a juvenile joke snickered about over cheap beer, but now a 3D printed partner is reality.
In combination with artificial intelligence (AI) a 3D printed robot capable of emotional expression is already possible.

In the modern industrial ages we have labored and innovated to produce the tallest skyscrapers and longest roads. In the USA our obsession with the automobile has resulted in multiple wars to protect the oil cars run on. There are whole TV channels dedicated to restoring junked cars that should be scrapped. Humans have lusted for physical objects since the dawn of time. We have fought, schemed, and hoarded physical objects as much as we have neglected our human companions.
On the surface a relationship with a 3D printed robot may seem unnatural; but I would argue that it’s a natural tangent to humans’ obsession with physical objects.
TOP 6 Ways a 3D Printed Partner is better than a Human
With 2016 ending, top 6 list are a popular blog topic. Here is my top 6 ways a 3D printed partner would be better than a human for 2017.
- Personality: Thanks to advances in AI, it may in fact be possible to program a personality into your 3D printed partner. If you are surrounded by the bitter dregs of society at work, coming home to a pleasant and responsive partner would be a welcome respite from life.
- Hard Limits: This election year people found that politics among the most bitter of topics. With the controls of an AI program, you can insure that forbidden topics never pop up during dinner. Other personal hard limits can be imprinted into the robot where needed.
- Health: The wedding vow “In sickness and in health” takes on new meaning when you can 3D print a replacement part for your robotic partner, and 3D print a replacement organ for the human partner.
- Sexual Health: A 3D printable robot will be far easier to clean and sterilize than a human. Lacking blood and other bodily fluids, the robot will be far less likely to pass on sexually transmitted infections.
- Drama: A 3D printed robotic partner caries no family drama, just flawed prints and technical issues.
- Fidelity: A robotic partner can be programmed with security features such as facial recognition and passwords to bind them to one human. The human can set the limits of social interaction for their robotic partner, and insure that the robot is faithful to the human.
DISCLAIMER: Sex with objects may be illegal in your area. Please check your state and local laws before having sex with your own 3D printed robot.

Awesome, this has come a very long way in a really short time. You guys have an incredible site, I love it , great job.
Thank you!
always looking to the future
Hope so, because that is where you and I are going to be… (sorry, could not resist the Plan 9 from outer space joke…)
Some people are just nuts. Really engaged to a robot ???? I think 3D printers are so cool and would love to own one.
We live in a crazy time… A 3D printed robot may be most sane thing this year.
No. This is not the most sane thing this year. If this poor woman has any friends, they need to assist her in finding some psychological help. Wanting to marry a robot is a sure sign of mental decay.
Pretty long video, but very interesting, there is a bad side of being very attached to things, dating a robot is weird, but feeling it’s a nice tool I think is nice.
Long? It’s only 50 minutes, including start and end rollings…
yes robo love is a bit out there
Perhaps, but what is love? and what restrictions should we place on it?
The agenda of the technocrats continues to unfold.
Peace!
