4D Additive Software has Added STEP File Format

CoreTechnologie added the STEP file format to the latest version of 4D Additive their 3D software.

Version 1.4 of their 4D Additive package has added the ability to build STEP files for 3D printing CAD results.  The STEP file format will save memory and result in more accurate models.

The 4D Additive package is based on the B-rep foundation. B-rep or Boundary Representation “…is more flexible and has a much richer operation set. In addition to the Boolean operations,…”. Models in this format are more accurate representations of the data.  These STEP models require much less memory space.

In addition, the STEP format will allow users to move their projects to other 3D printing platforms and software for post-processing.
