3D Printing Q&ACategory: General QuestionsWhich printer is best for me?

Hi there!

I’ve recently been researching 3D Printers for making miniatures and terrain for Table-top games (as well as the occaisional weeb figurine)

Currently, I’m looking at the Rerap Prusa i3 v2 or the Creality Ender 3 Pro.

I’m not overly concerned about overall quality, just as long as my prints don’t look like a potato.

Which of these two is going to offer me the best "bang for my buck"?

Thanks in advance!

As the two printers are virtually the same either would be a good beginner’s choice and it could really come down to whichever you can get cheapest, or which offers the best features for you such as the LCD display.

Whatever printer you purchase, take a little time to get the print settings right and you will be pleasantly surprised with the end result.

There is more to 3D printers than you know. There’s more to printing off a miniature than just popping the material in and waiting for your perfect little figure to come out. But even if you’re just getting started printing your very own 3D miniatures, the good news is that there are plenty of printer choices. Whether you are looking for prototypes for a design model, role-playing games, tabletop games, or video gaming miniatures for concept art, there are some better printers for miniatures.

Resin printing is generally what you’re looking at. Anycubic and elegoo seem to be the most popular manufacturers for their low price points and generally reliable machines. If you have a garage space that you can ventilate then the Elegoo Mars or Anycubic Photon (whichever is in sale). They’re near identical in build size.

If not then the Crealty Ender 3 gets good reviews and is inexpensive. Learn more about these best 3D printers for miniatures.
