I just posted something regarding PEEK, its a very strong material and I think it can be a great finish for you

Basically, it is spray painting your modal but with a twist: using a polyurethane varnish which you use alongside with your spray paint and this helps to fill out all imperfections, covering print lines and gives a better finish for your print.
