Nanofabrica launches micro-level resolution AM technology

Additive maufacuring Israel-based vendor, Nanofabrica, has revealed its latest technology developed

Recently, Nanofabrica launched a platform for Micro-level resolution AM (Additive Manufacturing) technology. As you can figure by the title, the platform delivers micron and sub-micron levels of resolution and surface finish.

New technology has two different platforms. First, ‘The Workshop System’ and then is ‘The Industrial System’. According to Nanofabrica, the second platform is able to achieve a one-micron resolution over centimeter-sized parts. With its 50 x 50 x 100 mm build volume, it can output thousands of parts in a single build.

In fact, Nanofabrica is able to build large “macro” parts with intricate micro details. And it gets even more interesting. Their process counts on a multi resolution strategy. It means the machine prints relative slowly the parts with fine details, while in the areas with not so exacting details, it can print 10 to 100 times faster.

As a result, the entire printing process is anything from 5 to 100 times faster than existing micro-AM platforms.

Micro-level 3D printing Technology

Micro-level AM process is based on a Digital Light Processing (DLP) engine, combined with adaptive optics and an array of sensors. In contrast to traditional micro-manufacturing processes, the conjunction of the elements just mentioned, allows repeatable micron levels of accuracy while remaining cost effective.

It is the first time that adaptive optics are applied to AM technology.

About the company

Founded in 2016, Nanofabrica has worked on AM technology to achieve high levels of resolution and accuracy for diverse appications. Their system deliver optimal results for micro-actuators. micro-electronics, micro-sensors and micro-springs. Similarly, in the medical sector, micro-level resolution AM technology is intended for certain applications such as micro valves, micro-syringes and micro-implantable or surgical devices.

After its founding and before its debut in the market, Nanofabrica has witnessed of the constant evolution and competitiveness that exists over Additive Manufacturing market. However, the company takes that their solutions can fill the gap in that market by allowing mass production of micro components and features like never before.

Nanofabrica has also launched its own high resolution component materials gamma based on the most commonly used industry plastics.
