Improved 3D Printing Filaments Are Coming
Researchers Miko Cakmak, Bryan D. Vogt and others have been exploring whether 3D printing Filament could be changed to reinforce parts.
These researchers have designed a core shell filament. Their idea was to produce a filament with a polycarbonate core not They termed it the olefin ionomer shell and it surrounded the polycarbonate core. It added support and reinforced the 3D printed part. When tested these part could withstand numerus impacts cracking, which other parts would never withstand.
