6 More printable tools worth adding to your workbench.

As the owner of a 3d printer, anytime I can print something instead of buying something makes me happy. So one thing I keep an eye out for are tools or other things I can add to my workbench that does more than just cover it with useless figures and nicknacks. Well, I have found a few more that I thought I’d share with you 6 more printable tools.

printable tools – Desktop tool holder

My workbench is a mess 90% of the time. Partly because it is also my workbench but mostly because I never pit tools that I use a lot away like I should. My shop teachers always hated it. My father the mechanic really hated it. but no matter how many times they tried to get me to put stuff away I always managed to get a tool thrown at me because it was in the wrong place. The upside is dodgeball was a breeze. I printed a couple of these though and I can almost see my desk again. I have 4 of these on my desk now but all the tools I use pretty often are sort of out of the way.

printable tools – Drill bit sharpener

This one is pretty self-explanatory. I needed to sharpen some drill bits and I remembered seeing this. It worked perfectly. You do need to know how to sharpen drill bits and know not to overheat the tip but this is a quick problem solver if you have a Dremel.

printable tools- Soldering Fingers

I like the one I posted before and it is still on my desk but this one is faster to print and gives you a little more room to work with. I have only used it a couple times but it did come in handy working on some wiring in my car. I’m not a fan of crimp connectors, anytime I have room to work I would rather solder. A helping hands isn’t something you can easily setup in an engine bay. This and a little blu-tack and you are off and soldering. I used this just a week ago to install my new headlights and relays. She’s a work in progress but coming along nicely.

printable tools – Customizable Vacuum Tool

This is a shop vac’s best friend. I have printed about 6 different heads now. This isn’t something that would go on a workbench but I have 3 nozzles I use for cleaning things like my keyboard. PC Tower and printer area. Oh, quick tip. Clean your tower. Right now. That thing is dirty as hell and a fire hazard. If you aren’t cleaning it out every 6 months or so cracking that thing open is going to be gross. You will thank me later.

printable tools – Press Brake

This has become my new favorite desk tool. I’m building another DIY 3d printer and I’m playing around with this to bed small pieces of aluminum I got from home depot to hide the electronics and wires better. I’m pretty happy with it.
