3D Systems announces 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS 15
3D printer manufacturer, 3D Systems has announced the release of the next iteration of 3DXpert plugin for SOLIDWORKS 15. The tool is the latest version of the company’s 3D printing plug-in for SOLIDWORKS users. 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS is a complementary software for SOLIDWORKS, providing everything you need to prepare and optimize your design for additive manufacturing (AM). According to 3D Systems, the plug-in provides access to a complete design for additive manufacturing toolset that was created to optimize 3D printing designs.
The company has focused on increasing the efficiency of design in its latest software version. It 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS 15 also allows more design freedom, and ultimately, reduced costs. The updated plug-in adds better bidirectional data transfer, an enhanced lattice development suite, and new workflows. These workflows include improved build simulation capabilities and a new power-supports feature that automates support generation for multiple geometries.

The company has also released a new educational suite. It is directed towards students and “is the ideal tool to teach students how to design with additive manufacturing in mind”, as stated on the company’s site.
The comprehensive solution enables the students to learn the different phases of the AM workflow using professional, yet easy to use, tools accompanied by a rich set of self-explanatory step-by–step tutorials.

Student licenses for the classroom
